Darya Kirenko was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to Russian parents. She learned English and French at a young age at the linguistic gymnasium and added Spanish later on at Tashkent State University, where she obtained a degree in International Economic Relations. She went on to study marketing at the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and a few years later, conference interpreting at the Moscow International School of Translation and Interpreting.

Darya has been living in Kuala Lumpur since 2002 and working as a conference interpreter since 2005, traveling extensively across Asia Pacific. She works for international organizations such as the United Nations, APEC, G20, international sports associations, etc. She regularly assists with interpreting at high-level government meetings and during diplomatic visits as well as for the private sector.

During her many years in Asia, Darya has also mastered Malay and took the Advanced Malay language course at the University Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.
